
The long-awaited reunion of Hong Kong Cantopop duo, Twins, who temporarily "split" when Gillian Chung (also known as Ah Jiao) went into hiding during the 2008 Edison Chen sex photos furore, is finally official. Gillian and Charlene Choi (also known as Ah Sa) shot a Lunar New Year calendar for Emperor Entertainment Group, and also filmed a short New Year greeting for the upcoming movie, Hot Summer Days (in which Charlene guest stars) where the pair addressed audiences with "Hi everybody, we are Twins!"

Bae Doo-na has been named the winner of three acting awards from three different film festivals in Japan for her performance in the Japanese film "Air Doll." Bae will receive the best actress award at the 19th Tokyo Sports Movie Awards on Feb. 28, and then claim the awards for best leading actress at the Japan Academy Prize on March 5 and the Takasaki Film Festival on March 28.

Taiwanese actor Alec Su has been accused of fraud by a Chinese tenant who had rented a commercial property owned by him. Su's tenant claimed that he had rented the property from Su through a brokerage firm and had already put up the initial rental down payment and safety deposit for the property along with 296,000 yuan (US$43,400) for renovations for use as a hair salon in July last year.

Multi-millionaire Vivi Nevo has come to his fiancee Zhang Ziyi's defence, after the actress was alleged to have cheated on him with a married businessman. On Jan 25, her lawyer also filed a defamation lawsuit against the publisher of Wan Quan Yu Le weekly, which reported the allegations by a self-professed socialite, said Chinese news websites.

MALAYSIAN singer Gary Chaw has been placed on one-year probation by a Hong Kong Court for fighting. He was also ordered to post a HK$1,000 (US$130) bond on self-surety. At the Eastern Magistracy on Friday, Chaw said he regretted the inconveniences he had caused to others. He said he was under the influence of alcohol during the brawl with his buddy Justin Lo, a Hong Kong singer, on Sept 23 last year.

New boy band CNBLUE just made its debut and it’s already troubled by accusations of plagiarism. Some alleged that “I’m a Loner,” the title song of the band’s mini album,” sounds much like the song “Bluebird” by an independent band called Ynot. “Bluebird” was featured in Ynot’s digital single album “Green Apple” released in May 2008.

Actress Haruka Ayase, 24, has been appointed to the position of Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan Ambassador to help celebrate the company’s 40th year of business in Japan. Ayase, dressed in an apron-style miniskirt, emerged out of a giant KFC barrel, which she said was natural if she was going to be the face of the campaign.

Renowned Chinese star Zhang Ziyi has filed a suit against an entertainment media company in Beijing's Chaoyang District court, claiming it seriously damaged her reputation. The hearing is expected to be held soon. Huang Kai, Zhang's lawyer, said they want the "Shopping Guide" ("Gouwu Daobao") to immediately stop damaging Zhang's reputation, delete relevant reports and publish an open apology.

Chinese stars including Jackie Chan, Yao Ming and Joey Yung joined nearly 10,000 local residents in Shanghai on Thursday to mark the 100-day countdown to the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Jackie Chan brought to the ceremony the song "City", which was composed to echo the Shanghai Expo's "Better City, Better Life" slogan.
