Norika Fujiwara Plays Supportive Housewife in New Drama
Actress Norika Fujiwara, 37, and Neptune comedy trio member Taizo Harada, 39, will star in "Tsure ga Utsu ni Narimashite" ("Tsure became depressed"), the upcoming NHK drama in which the pair play a married couple. For Fujiwara, who plays the role of the supportive housewife through her husband’s depression, this will be her first drama role since she divorced talento Tomonori Jinnai, 35.
To make the character more real to life, Fujiwara goes without makeup and unkempt hair, which is how she attended the press conference. She commented, "When I saw Taizo in character from behind, it really hit me. I just wanted to hold him tight." Production crew praised the pair’s acting skills, with one saying, "Without giving any direction, the two acted just like a couple who have been married for 5 or 6 years."
