Kelvin Kwan to Take a Break From Showbiz
Canto-pop star Kelvin Kwan who was arrested in Tokyo for marijuana possession in February, has announced that he will take a long break from showbiz. In a press conference on Thursday, the singer repeatedly apologised and said he will take time off to "reflect and reform".
"I would like to apologise to the people of Hong Kong, my record company, family and fans. My actions have cause much disappointment and sadness, I'm very sorry," said Kwan.
"I take responsibility for my actions and will face the consequences."

Kwan, 25, and Hong Kong pop star Jill Vidal, also known as Wei Si, were arrested in Tokyo's trendy Shibuya nightclub district on February 24 after a row with a 24-hour convenience store shopkeeper who suspected the pair were shoplifting. Police searched them and found 0.2 grams of marijuana in a cigarette they were carrying.
Kwan was released from police custody last Friday while Vidal is still being detained in Tokyo.
